Is The Social Credit System the Next Step for the USA?

Social Credit System in the USA

An Age of Disinformation

The western world seems to have a fascination with vilifying the east. From archaic racist sentiments such as The Great Yellow Peril to The Red Scare, western societies have done an excellent job whipping up their people to fear this immense foreign threat. My best guess? I suppose it is vital to keep the lights running in the military-industrial complex. In recent years, the west (specifically the USA) has again revived anti-Chinese propaganda due to its booming economy and its ability to threaten America's hegemony in global politics. There is, however, a slight difference in today’s propaganda against the Chinese. Instead of harsh sentiments like "The Great Yellow Peril", there is woke language used instead, lest anyone is offended. One specific term that seems to be putting the fear of God into American hearts is the term known as The Social Credit System.

What Is the Social Credit System?

The social credit system is a tier system created by the Chinese government as a way of grading its citizens based on who is an upstanding member of society and which ones are “undesirable”. Quite like the Hindu caste system, those with the highest score of 1030 to 1050 points are awarded all the benefits and social clout available in Chinese society. These angelic members of humanity are given priority in terms of government benefits, healthcare, education, housing, and the most important benefit of all: being able to tell your lower-tier family members how well your children are doing in the fancy high-tier schools. On the other side of the credit score coin, you have those whose credit score is less than 600. This dejected tier is usually reserved for those who intentionally commit criminal acts. They essentially become persona non grata in society and are barred from any benefits awarded to citizens.

Now at first glance, this system does not seem all bad. A way for the government to keep track of its citizens and encourage acceptable and positive behaviors whilst simultaneously discouraging immoral acts? Well, sign me up! But hold your horse little buddy; as with all human systems, if you put too much power into the hands of a group of people, seldom will they stay just and humble with their responsibility as rulers. In recent years China has “silenced” (tortured, killed, whatever you fancy) a myriad of political dissidents and critics. Billionaires such as the loveable Jack Ma have reportedly been picked up and given a free all-expense paid reeducation. This power has in ways corrupted the government with a lust for power, however, there is another government that I believe can take this system and make it much better.

Our good old friends the Americans.

Social Credit, A Step into A Glorious Future

In my travels to the great United States of America, I saw many great societal practices that I believe could be implemented into a magnificent freedom-loving social credit system. There is such an abundance of food in America that you regularly witness land whales on their little scooters on the streets. People weighing a good 150 kg is not exactly an anomaly there. Well, I believe in our new proposed American system the more plus size you are the higher your score should be. If you have the mass to create a gravitational field around you, you should be given a lifetime supply of Big Macs and strawberry shakes by the government.

Another sensational practice I was a witness to in California was rampant homelessness and drug use. Addicts would just be laying on the street like dead bodies and the ironic part was that even though I hail from a third world country, I realized in America that "by god, there is a lot of suffering in this world”. well instead of leaving these poor souls to the street, in my humble opinion they should be given the finest narcotics pumped into their system. Every overdose should be awarded a thousand points. These “benefits” should also help clear the roads a bit by reducing the population sizes.

I do believe that the west should not fear the social credit system, but instead welcome it with open arms. I see a bright future for them if they do.
