Urging for Change: Biden Administration's Promises

Gun Safety

Mass Shootings Need to Take Place for Biden to Plead for Gun Safety

In a country where whether you identify as a bat or cow is paid more attention than the risk firearms impose on the United States of America. The US president addressed the nation after a series of recent mass shootings and ticked off a list of reforms. A mass shooting that recently took place at an elementary school in Texas, USA is what brings the US to finally accept that guns are not safe.

Gun laws in the US are a joke, they did not have the intellectual capacity to determine to what extent are guns harmful and must come to this conclusion after the loss of innocent lives.

"Enough. Enough. It's time for each of us to do our part. It's time to act," Biden said in his first-time speech on gun violence to stop the "killing fields, battlefields" that American schools and other meeting places have become. This is what he had to say after millions were spent on firearms in the first 4 months of 2022 in the US. This does not show a country that is headed in the direction to improve their gun laws but has such weak laws placed in the first place which discourage so much to be spent on firearms.

What Is the Biden Administration Doing About It?

So far, all Biden has given us are words that he forgot halfway through his speech and started talking about how he wants his private jet seats to be made of gold, and to be served Indian-fusion sushi whereas the real problem is yet to be addressed, why is one of the most powerful countries in the world being run by a man-child? Who walks like he is drunk half the time, why is it the case that teenagers have access to firearms and can easily go and commit such acts, this is not the first time, this has happened again and again, and the question is when will they learn? How many more innocents need to suffer for the US to realize that firearms are not the solution.

Biden ticked off his wish list: a ban on assault-style weapons and high-capacity magazines, universal background checks, a federal "red flag" law to keep weapons out of the hands of criminals and the mentally ill, liability for both the gun industry and gun owners who do not lock up their firearms and raising the age to purchase high-capacity weapons from 18 to 21.

Since 2018, 119 school shootings have taken place, that’s the number of shootings it took to make the US apply the most mundane gun laws any rational, logical, and well progressive government would make.

The Conclusion

The US still has a long way to go to get its gun laws in order but just having protective and well-reformed gun laws will not save it from this tyranny, their sociological, cultural, political views, and values must be re-evaluated and they need to ask themselves what direction they wish to go in. The US is nowhere one of the safest countries on this planet and it can clearly be seen why that is. The problems and issues can be pointed out easily, but it is the US itself that must change this as no one else will do it for them.
